Zone Conference And One Year

Image
Hey everyone, Last week I hit one year since I came to Mongolia. It was a good reflection point of spiritual and language growth while living in Mongolia. Last week was pretty awesome. We had zone conference in Darkhan. We had to take 2 different taxis with just over 9 hours total of on-the-road time. But zone conference was awesome. My district meets over Messenger calls once a week, so it was nice to see everyone in person! For Easter Sunday, all the missionaries sang the hymn "There Is a Green Hill Far Away" in the middle of our church service. It was a beautiful song to commemorate the Easter season. This week we had an awesome exchange with our STLs Sister Brouse and Sister Taylor. We got our maps all organized and figured out how to check the different horoos (kind of like districts but a lot smaller). Our Elders baptized 4 people this past Saturday. It was awesome. This week we have transfers. I'm hoping that I'll get to train again or stay with Sister...

A Whole Lot Of Conference

Hello Everyone, I hope you had a great week! We had a HUGE dust storm last p-day and it was so crazy. This p-day we took advantage of the warm weather and went thrift shopping. I hope the warm weather stays. Yesterday night there was a huge fire in Murun. Our elder's new member, Sod Erdene, sent us a video since our apartment was facing the other way. I sincerely hope no one got hurt. Other than the fire and sandstorm, this week was pretty good. Except for the fact that my investigator is having some health challenges due to stress. She also informed us that she might not be able to get baptized due to her parents' mistrust in our church. That was not a happy moment. Please pray for her parents to have a change of heart. Her name is Oyun Bolor, sounds like (oi-youn bothor). One cool quote I want to share with everyone comes from Elder Gong's talk. "This world tells us we are too tall, too short, too wide, too narrow—not smart, pretty, or spiritual enough. Through spir...

Pear Cranberry Pie

Hello Everyone, Every week is such a challenge to write my big email. I seriously have such a boring brain and I seem to forget everything we do when I sit down to write. But this week was pretty standard. Last week we went to a women's conference happening in Irdenet (a 6 hr bus ride for us). It was awesome. I got to see some members from Selenge and Darkhan that I know and love. I also was able to meet up with some sisters that I haven't seen in a while. There were a lot of dances, musical numbers, and rapping going on at that conference. Speaking of conference... general conference happened. I've listened to a little bit of it, but due to translation stuff, all of the Saints in Mongolia won't be watching it until this Saturday and Sunday. So slay. Oh, I also made a pear and cranberry pie (a family tradition) last transfer. Yay, it was surprisingly good. But I still miss my mom's cooking. Also, any helpful tips on how to not be trunky? I have 2 transfers after thi...
