Pear Cranberry Pie

Hello Everyone,

Every week is such a challenge to write my big email. I seriously have such a boring brain and I seem to forget everything we do when I sit down to write.

But this week was pretty standard.

Last week we went to a women's conference happening in Irdenet (a 6 hr bus ride for us). It was awesome. I got to see some members from Selenge and Darkhan that I know and love.

I also was able to meet up with some sisters that I haven't seen in a while.

There were a lot of dances, musical numbers, and rapping going on at that conference.

Speaking of conference... general conference happened. I've listened to a little bit of it, but due to translation stuff, all of the Saints in Mongolia won't be watching it until this Saturday and Sunday. So slay.

Oh, I also made a pear and cranberry pie (a family tradition) last transfer. Yay, it was surprisingly good. But I still miss my mom's cooking.

Also, any helpful tips on how to not be trunky? I have 2 transfers after this and it's hard not to think about home.

My spiritual thought for this week is about a post that I made for the church Facebook page (missionaries running all of the socials here [I've gotten amazing at cranking out last-minute posts]).

It is found in Mosiah 16:9:

"He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death."

I can testify that as we draw nearer to our Savior, we will see the world fill up with His light. We will see the beauty of the flowers and the little miracles He sends our way.

We are instructed to share His light. We are all proverbial candlesticks. We cannot produce flame on our own, but we merely carry His light to others.

I love y’all,
Sister Vestel
