Boots

Hello All, This week has been so busy. We have had to run around to catch buses, make appointments, and just generally get places. We had a really good meeting with an LA family out in the middle of a Ger district. And the food they made was absolutely delicious. The weather has now dropped significantly enough to wear my new snow boots and my new blue scarf (thanks Andrea). I don't have a lot else for this week except to say that we have seen a lot of little miracles. I promise to write more next week, but for now, I'll leave you with a spiritual thought. The path to being like Christ and living with your Heavenly Father again is like driving up a mountain without brakes. It sounds scary, but with little pushes of the engine, you make a lot of progress. However, if you are not progressing, you will slide backward. We need to constantly be working on ourselves. We need to practice being more and more Christlike every day so that we do not backslide. If one day we say, "I h...

Liver On A Prayer

Hey everyone, This week was crazy and I am too lazy to write out everything I want to, so I'll just go through the highlights. We went to visit a member, but we're lowkey terrified by the guard dogs and all the strays that were chasing us. We carried huge rocks to defend ourselves. We had the amazing opportunity to tour the hospital we teach out of, and we were able to watch a liver surgery. It was so cool! We met a lady outside our apartment who asked about the church as soon as she saw us. She wants to come on Sunday. This Sunday I am going to give my first talk in Mongolian. Please pray for me. I'm scared. I'm in another trio for this transfer. My companions are Sister Udall and Sister Tsolmon (a Mongolian sister who is waiting for her visa before going to America). We taught some of the most spiritual new member lessons this week. Some of these lessons will stay with me. We had an English student who kept calling Thailand, "Thigh-land," and it was hilariou...

A Job offer?

Hi all, This week has actually flown by. We have been so busy with our investigators, our member meetings, and our new English assignment. We are now teaching at a medical college Monday and Wednesday. We are teaching the staff to help with their ILTS testing as well as confidence in speaking in English to their students. Needless to say, I'm SUPER happy that we get to be around medical professionals. Most of whom we teach are surgeons and doctors who work part-time at the hospital and then give lectures for the rest of the week! On Monday, I turned on the shower to find a beautiful orange color coming out of the shower head. It looked like slightly watered-down orange juice. Yummy. We also did a lot of service for a member named Enktoya. She has a beautiful garden. We were mostly brushing and picking the dead plants. This week, we were able to meet with an inactive family. The mother's name is Enkhjargal, and she has two sons. We were able to teach the kids more about Jesus an...

My Third Trio

Image
Hey all, This week was pretty crazy, so I'll run you through the details. Last P-day, our carbon monoxide alarm went off on our smoke detectors, so we camped at the church and then slept over with our STLs. We returned the next day with no word on the carbon monoxide levels, but we woke up the next morning all right. The rest of the week was gai gui. And then on Saturday, I got transferred to the city. With a long time in the car and very slick, icy roads, I am now serving in Bayanzurkh. So, um, yeah, I get to be in the BEST TRIO EVER with Sister Taylor and Sister Udal!!! Sister Taylor and I were in the MTC together, and Sister Udal was with us for the first 4 weeks in the MTC because she is in the district above us. It's been so fun with them. I've only been in this area for three days, but they have been so kind and welcoming and literally so fun. I could not have asked for better companions here. Bayanzurkh is really busy. Definitely my most busy area, but these two amaz...
