Пирошки

Hello everyone, This is the week before Tsagaan Tsar, and I am wondering what the best strategy to survive is. Let me explain Tsagaan Tsar a little bit so you will better understand. Tsagaan Tsar is a Mongolian traditional holiday that is all about family and food. All Mongolian households make a ridiculous amount of buuz and have their family over to eat said buuz. (Buuz are like dumplings but just purely meat, fat, and dough.) This is really awesome, but it does last a very long time, and because this is a very large family holiday, we are not allowed to meet with any investigators. But we are allowed to do member visits, and we will most likely be invited to many, many houses so we can eat their buuz. During this holiday, missionaries are invited to SO MANY HOUSES, and most missionaries end up puking on day two from how many buuz they are forced to eat. Now, normally this would be a fear-invoking thing, but let me tell you why I'm extra terrified. My amazing, beautiful, and tale...

Hello everyone, this week was fairly normal. I don't have much to say other than it was awesome. We had a little Tsagan Tsar activity. This is like a little winter festival. We all got to wear our Mongolian traditional clothes, and we got to see Mongolian wrestling. It was all super cool. Everyone looked so beautiful. This week, we have had such good food too. Sister Jo is an amazing cook, and together we have a goal to eat really healthy. We have been pushing each other to be better as well. She is really amazing. I'll talk more next week. Love, Sister Vestel

Hello friends, family, and loved ones, Last week was my one year as a missionary! Yay! I'm sorry I did not write an email. I drafted one, but to be quite curt, it was only two sentences long. And if I send an email to nearly 100 people, I want it to be better than two sentences. This past Friday, we had transfers! I am staying in BZ for a third transfer. I do have a new companion; her name is Sister Jo. She studied illustration before the mission, and she has been on the mission for eight months. She has amazing art skills and is really dedicated to the work here in Mongolia. I am happy to spend the next six weeks with her! This week I have been showing Sister Jo around our area. She has only been in one area, so it's been nice to show her new things. This week we were able to meet with a new investigator on Sunday, and we are so excited to teach her more. We are also helping the two new sisters reopen the second sisters' apartment. Well, I still don't have a lot for th...
