The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway

Hello All,

First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone who responded to my last email's challenge. To all those who responded, you made me ugly cry, which is not an easy feat.

I seriously loved seeing everyone's memories and photos. It really made my birthday a special one.

As my title suggests, it's getting a little chilly here in Mongolia, but thanks to my amazing mother and her packing skills, I am staying warm. If you are ever planning to vacation in subzero temperatures, I would highly suggest consulting Naomi. She's the bomb.

This week, we had so many little miracles.
Here are my favorites:

We were on our way to one of our investigator's houses when we got lost. We knew the house was in the area, but the pin on our Google Maps was incorrect. We tried calling her three times, but she did not answer. All of a sudden, I remembered that I took a picture of her gate and went to find it. If you know me, this is pretty crazy since I have the memory of a hard-boiled egg. We walked around the area for literally thirty seconds when we saw the exact gate in the photo. We went inside and knocked on the door. A minute passed by. Two minutes. We knocked again. Another two minutes. Then I knocked (apparently I have the knock of an Army Drill Sergeant—it's really loud), and someone opened the door. It was our investigator's mother! She said that our investigator was sleeping after a long night shift at the hospital. We apologized and said we could leave if needed, but she invited us in and woke our investigator up. Instead of being grumpy from being woken up, our investigator was bright and happy. She was super glad to see us. We taught them an amazing lesson. This 100% would not have been possible without the Holy Ghost putting that thought in my head.

That's all for this week,
Sister Vestel
