The Favorite Child
Hello Everyone,
This week has been crazy busy, so bear with me as I give a quick rundown of it.
We had a huge service project for DIC, which was amazing. We made several hundred food bags to give out to the needy across the country. For those of you who don't know, DIC is Deseret International Charities, and they are funded by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was really happy to be doing some service for this amazing foundation. All of our visas are under the DIC name, and we are officially English teachers through DIC. Super cool!
We got to go to two other baptisms last week! It was so cool to watch!
We also got to eat some amazing grilled cheese and homemade tomato soup made by the beautiful and amazing Sister Udall and Sister Butler. I definitely copped the recipe and will be making that for my companion and myself.
Speaking of my companion, we received transfer news on Monday morning, and I saw my name next to a sister Nergui. I freaked out because I thought I was going to stay with my amazing sister Tsolmon. But it turns out that I'm just stupid. A Mongolian's last name is their father's first name, and I forgot that Tsolmon is her first name.
So, me and the amazing Sister Tsolmon are serving with each other again! We are still in Bayanzurkh, and we are loving it! The other set of sisters went to different places, and they shut down the second set. So, we took on all of the other sisters' investigators, referrals, and yellow dots. We have 62 referrals and close to 27 green dots. We can't wait to serve and help our beautiful investigators grow in their faith.
Whoo, that's a lot of writing for one day! Thanks for tuning in, and if you have made it this far, then I'll share a little secret with you: My family always jokes around about who the favorite child is, and we always point fingers at one another and say, "It's him, it's her," but in reality, we are all loved the same, just in different ways. I am loved for my organization skills and the ability to lead the family. Oliver is loved for bringing the social aspect to our family. Lauren is loved for her purity and for her light of Christ. Andy is loved because he is easy to be the comedian and make people feel loved.
Just like how my parents love all of their children equally, Heavenly Father loves all of us just as much as He loves Jesus Christ.
He loves us as equally as He loves the Son who died for the sins of people who killed Him. Heavenly Father looks at all of our talents, and He loves us in different ways. But all the same amount of love—there are no favorites.
