Busy Bee

Hello All,

Sorry for not sending an email last week, I was out all day Christmas shopping and the only email that got sent out was my president email.

So I have a lot to catch you all up on.

We had an awesome exchange with our STLs last Tuesday. Sister Udall and I stayed here with Sister Boyle and Sister Tsolmon went with Sister Lee to Sansar. It was honestly so cool.

We also finished up all of Temun's lessons and he passed his baptismal interview (which was super cool) and he is getting baptized tonight. We are all super excited, to say the least.

We had an awesome Sunday as well. We were really praying for new investigators since ours are really busy with school and some have been ghosting us. So fervently we prayed, and we had 2 new investigators come to church!!!! They are so prepared as well. Honestly, it has been one of the biggest blessings I have seen here in Mongolia.

Update: The baptism went well. Temun was very brave and was able to get baptized with cold water. Considering that he is 9 years old, that is honestly a huge thing to celebrate.

One of the coolest things I got to hear this week was my amazing companion Sister Udall playing my favorite musical piece. The piece is called Dawn. It is the opening song in the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. Just getting to hear this song from such a talented pianist made me ugly cry. It was amazing.

I can't wait to hear more masterpieces from her.

But before I go, I would like to give my simple testimony:

There will be times in your life where you will have the spirit touch your soul. Times where you will be chastised. Times when you want to start anew. Times where you feel the closest to God. Times where you recognize your true potential as a son or daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves you. I testify that as you chase after these spiritually high moments, Satan will be waiting just a second after. He demands that you worship him and his creations. He demands that you abuse your will and take the short pleasures that will only lead to unhappiness. After Moses saw the face of God, Satan soon followed and demanded that Moses worship him. The devil will try to get you to forget your most spiritual experience, doubt the authenticity of your potential, and other malicious things. Do not doubt. When God is on your side, do not fear. But instead, write. Write down the full extent of your spiritual experiences. That way, when you start to doubt in God, you can read past and see how God has blessed you.

Hello All! I am happy to say that I am doing well at the MTC! I am starting to love the language and am trying to open up to my companion more. We had several interesting things happen this week so I'll try to keep the email short (no promises). For the past week, we have had an annoying cricket noise in our room. We checked the vents, we checked in the closets and under the bed. And then Sister Kayner checked her luggage in a last-ditch attempt to find the cricket, and voila, Douglas the cricket was found. It was a little prank toy that was set up by her family. They hid it in the lining of her suitcase, so we finally found Douglas. Last week we found out that we cannot share or post photos of us with missionary tags or refer to ourselves as missionaries to anyone in Mongolia. If we do, then we could get deported, and our district would get in trouble for going against Mongolian law. Yay. I also cannot wear my tag unless it is at home or during a zone conference. Couch Surfing

Hello Everyone, this week we had zone conference, so I thought the title was appropriate. We left for Darkhan on Sunday and had our interviews with our Mission president Sunday night! It was so awesome. Definitely my best president interview yet! We stayed over with our STLs and then had Zone conference the next day. This was my last zone conference, so I was able to bear my testimony in front of everyone in my zone. I wish I could have spoken more completely or more eloquently, but I think my message came through clear enough. I was also so lucky to hear from three of the other sisters who are leaving with me. After zone conference, we drove to Erdenet and crashed with the sisters there, and on Tuesday we finally made it home. Today is the start of the summer festival here in Murun and all over Mongolia! Everyone gets dressed up in their traditional clothes, goes to events such as horseracing and archery, and we are lucky enough to join the crowds. That's all for now, I love you a...
