Rain Clouds And Rays Of Light

Hi all!

We have had some really rainy weather up here near the Russian border.

This week was a little repetitive, but we have had some really good miracles.

We have an investigator. This is awesome because we are not allowed to proselyte, and we don't have any Mongolian missionaries in our area. We mainly have to rely on the ward members finding friends and our referrals. But luckily, our member took her friend's daughter to church, and we were able to teach her the first lesson.

The weather is starting to cool off, which has been amazing. It is starting to feel like autumn, and I'm 100% here for it. I can't wait for spooky season!

Our gerch was able to drive us to Shamar (a 20-minute drive) instead of us taking a taxi.

These were super cool things I noticed this week!

I just want to talk about one really quick spiritual thought. One scripture I shared with our members this week comes from 2 Nephi 31:3, which says:
"For my soul delighteth in plainness; for after this manner doth the Lord God work among the children of men. For the Lord God giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to their language, unto their understanding."

For me, this scripture is super cool because it talks about how God speaks to everyone in a way they will understand. Everyone is able to receive messages from God. Through the Bible. The Book of Mormon. Through the Holy Ghost, or by any other means.

If you are ever doubting that God does not hear you or care about you, please remember that He will speak to you in a way that you understand best. Instead of looking for large miracles and waiting for an angel to tell you what you want to know, first look for the small things. For me, my friends and family have unknowingly answered many of the secret prayers that I say. They have helped me get where I am today. Without my strong mother and my faithful friends, I don't think I would be on a mission.

God knows you, and He will talk to you in a personal way because He knows you best. He is there for you and knows every struggle you have gone through.

If you are waiting for a sign to talk to Him, please take this as one. He is waiting to hear about your struggles, and He is waiting to send His little blessings down.

I love you all so much! And I know that our Heavenly Father does too! How lucky we are to have the strongest being rooting for us in heaven.

Hello All! I am happy to say that I am doing well at the MTC! I am starting to love the language and am trying to open up to my companion more. We had several interesting things happen this week so I'll try to keep the email short (no promises). For the past week, we have had an annoying cricket noise in our room. We checked the vents, we checked in the closets and under the bed. And then Sister Kayner checked her luggage in a last-ditch attempt to find the cricket, and voila, Douglas the cricket was found. It was a little prank toy that was set up by her family. They hid it in the lining of her suitcase, so we finally found Douglas. Last week we found out that we cannot share or post photos of us with missionary tags or refer to ourselves as missionaries to anyone in Mongolia. If we do, then we could get deported, and our district would get in trouble for going against Mongolian law. Yay. I also cannot wear my tag unless it is at home or during a zone conference. Couch Surfing

Hello Everyone, this week we had zone conference, so I thought the title was appropriate. We left for Darkhan on Sunday and had our interviews with our Mission president Sunday night! It was so awesome. Definitely my best president interview yet! We stayed over with our STLs and then had Zone conference the next day. This was my last zone conference, so I was able to bear my testimony in front of everyone in my zone. I wish I could have spoken more completely or more eloquently, but I think my message came through clear enough. I was also so lucky to hear from three of the other sisters who are leaving with me. After zone conference, we drove to Erdenet and crashed with the sisters there, and on Tuesday we finally made it home. Today is the start of the summer festival here in Murun and all over Mongolia! Everyone gets dressed up in their traditional clothes, goes to events such as horseracing and archery, and we are lucky enough to join the crowds. That's all for now, I love you a...
