Trains

Image
Hello Everyone! I actually have things to talk about in this email, so I am excited. Sorry for all of those who did not get my email last week; I had an issue with my emails not sending. So, the week started off with transfers. Me and Sister Udy really wanted to stay together, but unfortunately, she was called to be in the city, and I was staying with a new companion. We took the 10-hour train ride to Ulaanbaatar to pick up our new companions. My new companion’s name is Sister Egnew. She is from Arizona, and she wants to become an archaeologist. She is also super kind and helps me to be a more diligent missionary. Anyways, we were in the mission home with all the missionaries who were new to the country and any missionaries who were getting new companions. While we were greeting the new missionaries, I met one named Sister Maughan. She introduced herself as an Air Force brat, and of course, I also said the same. It turns out she was born in the same hospital I was, my dad flew with her...

Zone Conference

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a good week. I'm not going to lie, this week was pretty tough. I kinda see why our mission has a huge reputation for sending missionaries home looking lifeless, exhausted, and beat down—and in desperate need of therapy. Anyways, moving on from that very emo comment. My wonderful companion, Sister Udy, and I only have about two more days together, and I'm super sad about it. She is for sure leaving since she has had three transfers here. Selenge is either going to be whitewashed (when all the missionaries are replaced in an area), or I am going to be the only one staying here. Who knows, though? I also have this horribly cryptic feeling that I might train, but I don't think my language is where it needs to be for training just yet. This past Thursday, we had zone conference with our whole zone, and it was amazing. The trainings everyone gave were really cool. I love how everyone's topics applied to life beyond missionary work as well...

Small Blessings Tend To Add Up

Image
Hey, Sister Vestel here. This week has been amazing, and I have seen a lot of little blessings, which Selenge seems to always have. Some of those blessings include: Getting three new investigators the week after we had two of our investigators baptized. Understanding a lot more of what my investigators are talking about. Getting a blessing for a head cold that healed me almost immediately. Although we had no power and the water was freezing, we had three baptisms. So, all in all, pretty cool. And to top it off, I hit six months as a missionary! I only have one year left! Here is a link for my photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/9aEdm73y1tNbQoFZ6 Love you all, Sister Vestel
